Juventus are lining up Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood as a potential successor to Cristiano Ronaldo, according to a report.
Reports have recently emerged suggesting that Juventus are looking to move Ronaldo on in 2021. He remains one of the best players in the world, but his astronomical wages are putting a strain on their finances.
There have been rumours of a sensational return to United for the Portuguese legend. He previously spent six years at Old Trafford, honing his talents to become a Ballon d’Or winner.
One journalist has claimed that United have tried to tempt the 35-year-old back to the Premier League. He has also been suggested as an option for PSG.
If Ronaldo returns to United – or moves anywhere else – then Juventus could target a current Red Devil as a replacement.

According to Todofichajes, Juventus are weighing up a move for Greenwood. The striker is one of the most promising youngsters United have, after scoring 10 goals in the Premier League last season.
However, things have not gone to plan for the 19-year-old in recent months. In September, he and Phil Foden were sent home from the England squad for breaching coronavirus protocols.
Foden has since earned a re-call to the national team, but Greenwood has not. He has only started three Premier League games this season, and reports have suggested United are concerned about his sleeping patterns and energy.
It would still come as quite a surprise if he was to leave the club, but a big offer from a European giant may give United something to think about.
Juventus back in for Greenwood
The report from Todofichajes suggests Greenwood is “on the agenda” for Juventus. The Italian club have admired him for some time, and could relaunch a new attempt to sign him.
Furthermore, the website claims Greenwood “is thinking about a change of scenery”. His contract with United expires in 2023, but the club have put plans to offer him a new deal on hold.
It is speculated that United value the striker at €50m, but their demands could drop.
Greenwood would have big shoes to fill if he was to help replace Ronaldo at Juventu. But the Old Lady know they need a more cost-effective option, so could move for a younger player.
