Jurgen Klopp has urged his Liverpool bosses not to let a Bayern Munich star slip through their fingers, while the Reds look set to sign a teenager from Derby, and West Ham’s No 1 striker target has emerged, according to Monday’s transfer gossip.
KLOPP DESPERATE TO WIN DAVID ALABA CHASE
Jurgen Klopp has pleaded with the Liverpool board to not miss the ‘rare opportunity’ to sign David Alaba this summer.
The Austrian defender will leave Bayern Munich as a free agent this summer after a trophy-laden stint in Bavaria.
Real Madrid were reported to have tied up his signing last week; rumours which were quickly denied.
And while Alaba is said to favour a move to the Bernabeu, Klopp has reportedly emplored Liverpool not to miss out.
Klopp last week spoke of his frustration at not being allowed to sign a new defender this month. As such, Don Balon report the Reds boss has challenged his board to fulfil their frugality by poaching Alaba on a free.
It’s reported Klopp has told his owners that the opportunity to sign such a talented defender does not come around often.
It’s claimed he has explained why they should push the boat out to land him – and how the signing could save them millions.
Whether a strong push from Liverpool will be enough to sway the defender remains to be seen.
With any deal on hold until the summer, Alaba still has time on his side before making his next move.
