Jesse Lingard could leave Manchester United in January, with a surprise LaLiga package reportedly in the running for his signature.
Real Sociedad are said to be one of a number of teams looking to take the 27-year-old on loan.
Lingard’s representatives have reportedly held talks with Sociedad, who are currently second in Spain’s top-flight.
The Spanish outfit, who have former Manchester City star David Silva in their ranks, are looking to build on their impressive start.
They view Lingard as viable option, given that the 27-year-old is out of contact next summer.
The England international has made only two appearances this season – both coming in the EFL Cup in September.
Sky Sports also claims that United have yet to trigger their option of extending the player’s contract by a further year.
Lingard was the subject of interest from a number of clubs over the summer but nothing concrete emerged.
The attacking midfielder has scored 33 goals in 209 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils since making his debut back in 2014.
He scored the winner in the 2016 FA Cup final win over Crystal Palace. He was also a major part of the England squad that got to the World Cup semi-finals in 2018.

However, Mason Greenwood’s emergence and the signing of Donny van de Beek has relegated Lingard to a watching brief over the past year.
TEAMtalk sources recently revealed to us that both Celtic and Rangers were looking at Lingard.
But it would appear that a switch to Spain could be on the cards, if Sociedad firm up their interest.
Messi future key to United’s Dybala hopes
Paris Saint Germain’s pursuit of Lionel Messi could play a pivotal role in whether Manchester United are able to sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus.
The Red Devils are still looking for the right formula under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It has been one step forward and two back but they are currently on a four-game Premier League winning run.
However, there is no doubt that the Old Trafford giants need to strengthen and Dybala has been linked in the past.
United showed an interest in the 27-year-old during the summer of 2019 but no deal materialised. However, they may be about to look again, according to AS, depending on what happens elsewhere.
The Spanish paper are suggesting that Paris Saint Germain are trying to lure Messi to the Parc des Princes. That comes after Neymar expressed a desire to link up with the Argentinian superstar once again.
Whether or not that transfer will ever happens is open to debate and the Parisians have a back-up plan. It seems as though they want Dybala if his compatriot stays put at the Nou Camp. Read more…
