Michael Owen has waxed lyrical about one Liverpool star’s performance against Aston Villa and claims he will never tire of watching him play football.
The Reds produced a second-half blitz on Friday to get past Villa’s team of youngsters and secure FA Cup progress.
The hosts had to field their youth after a coronavirus outbreak in their first-team camp throughout the week.
Nonetheless, Villa put in a spirited performance and had levelled at 1-1 before half time. Louie Barry’s goal came with Liverpool having failed to add to Sadio Mane’s fourth-minute opener.
After the match, Jurgen Klopp had his say on the massive mistake Liverpool rectified at Villa Park.
The Reds were able to take control after the break, in part, thanks to the half-time introduction of Thiago Alcantara.
The midfielder joined Liverpool over the summer from Bayern Munich. However, he has endured a difficult time with injuries and has made just four appearances before Friday.
However, after stepping off the bench, Thiago was able to show his qualities and he left Owen purring.
“This fella just makes me want to watch football 24 hours a day,” Owen told BT Sport.
Klopp’s men get the job done and advance to the next round, but those Villa players did their club proud 👏

“The way he looks around, the way he gives it the eyes.
“There’s nobody in the Premier League, nobody that plays like him.
“He’s playing a different type of game than everyone else. His disguise on passes is unbelievable.”

Owen praises Liverpool attack
Klopp will no doubt be hoping for an injury-free second half of the season and there’s no doubting he is the one player who can truly influence games for Liverpool.
Owen, though, also was impressed with Liverpool’s attacking verve, and said their starting trio of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Takumi Minamino all impressed.
“We saw some great moves from Liverpool. You look at their team, they are all neat, small players. There’s no point playing aimless crosses; we saw great little moves from Liverpool in and around Villa’s area.”
