Everton have confirmed the departure of Moise Kean to Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan.

Kean was a major signing for Everton last summer, but failed to live up to expectations after joining from Juventus.

The Italian striker scored just twice in the Premier League in his first season in England, having been limited to just six league starts.

And although he started his second season with two goals in the Carabao Cup, his struggles led to rumours that Everton could get rid of him after just one year.

That has now materialised, with PSG taking him to France for the season. However, the Ligue 1 champions do not have an option to buy him.

Kean remains under contract at Goodison Park until 2024.

Kean ‘proud’ to join PSG

Upon the confirmation of the move, Kean explained his excitement at joining the Champions League finalists.

“I am really proud and happy to become a Paris Saint-German player,” he told PSG’s website. “It is one of the best clubs in the world as shown by their Champions League campaign last season where they reached the final.

“I am delighted to join such an ambitious club with such a strong reputation in my country. I look forward to playing alongside some of the best players in the world.”
