Famous agent Mino Raiola has said that there are four clubs in the Premier League with the financial might to sign Erling Haaland.
The Borussia Dortmund striker has become one of the most coveted players in Europe since last season.
After exploding onto the scene at RB Salzburg, he has not slowed down in Germany. Indeed, he has scored 43 goals in 43 games, leading to lengthy speculation about his next move.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City all reportedly have a firm interest in the forward.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Haaland’s representative Raiola did not name the Premier League teams keen on his client, but the aforementioned trio could well be among them. Liverpool could make up the quartet.
“It is obvious that everybody is looking at Erling as one of those potential new future stars because it’s so difficult to do what he does at his age at his level,” Raiola said.
“He will be one of the future stars of the next decade because we see that stars such as [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Lionel] Messi are coming to an age where everyone asks themselves: ‘How long can we still enjoy them?’
“So everyone is looking for the new generation. Only a maximum of 10 clubs can afford to buy [Haaland] and give the platform you would like after you’ve been in Dortmund… and four of those clubs are in [England].”
Haaland and Mbappe, who is two years older than the Norwegian, have emerged as the leading candidates to dominate the Ballon d’Or hunt from the next generation.
As such, Raiola insisted that there should be worldwide interest in his star client.
Haaland will attract attention
“I don’t think there’s a sports director or trainer in the world who would say ‘not interested’,” Raiola said.
“It’s like saying: ‘Is there a Formula 1 team who would not be interested in having Lewis Hamilton?””
“For the extraordinary talents, there is always space.”
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba is another of Raiola’s star clients. The agent has spoken out about the player again, after receiving criticism in the past.
